Dr. Michael P. McGarry
Michael P. McGarry is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso. He received his B.S. in Computer Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of NYU in 1997. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University in 2004 and 2007, respectively. He is a co-recipient of the 2009 IEEE Communications Society Best Tutorial Paper award. His research interests include automation of network management, cloud computing, MAC protocols, and bandwidth forecasting. Sunday Ogundele
Sunday Oluwaleke Ogundele is a Research Assistant in the Communication Networks Laboratory from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso. He received his B.Eng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with First Class Honors, from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin Nigeria. He is currently pursuing a PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Michael McGarry. His research interests include network fault management, wireless communications and networking, and signal processing.

Herman Ramey
Herman Ramey is a Research Assistant in the Communication Networks Laboratory from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso. He is currently pursuing an M.S. in Computer Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Michael McGarry. His research interests include network traffic classification and active learning.

Michelle Lara
Michelle Lara is a Research Assistant in the Communication Networks Laboratory from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso. She received her B.S in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso in May of 2023. She is currently pursuing an M.S. in Computer Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Michael McGarry. Her research interests include network fault management.

Jaime Merin
Jaime Merin is a Research Assistant in the Communication Networks Laboratory from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso. He received a B.S. in Mechatronics Engineering from Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez. He is currently pursuing an M.S. in Computer Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Michael McGarry. His research interests include network fault management, IoT, and robotics.

Daniel Cruz
Daniel Cruz is a Research Assistant in the Communication Networks Laboratory from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso. He is working on his B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso. He is currently working on software development for OpenTap: a software-defined data acquisition system. Jazmin Munoz
Jazmin Munoz is a Research Assistant in the Communication Networks Laboratory from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso. She is working on her B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso. She has assisted our group with the development of visualizations of network flow data, see: NetFlow Data Visualization Web Interface. Damaris Renteria
Damaris Renteria is a Research Assistant in the Communication Networks Laboratory from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso. Dr. Christopher Mendoza
Christopher Mendoza is a Software Engineer working on large language models for Bing search at Microsoft. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Computer Engineering and his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering all from the University of Texas at El Paso under the supervision of Dr. Michael McGarry. His research interests include network measurement, software defined networking, and large language models.
Luis Vergara
Luis Vergara is a Grid Software Engineer Lead at Siemens in Portland, Oregon. In his role, he provides essential support to the Calibre EDA product by specializing in the development of Build, infrastructure, and Grid tools. He completed his M.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso on the subject of active learning for network traffic classification in May 2022 under the supervision of Dr. Michael McGarry.
Carlos Alcantara
Carlos Alcantara is a software engineer for SAIC in El Paso, Texas. He completed his M.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso on the subject of network traffic classification in May 2020 under the supervision of Dr. Michael McGarry.
Julio Reyes-Munoz
Julio Reyes-Munoz completed his M.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso on the subject of computation offloading in May 2018 under the supervision of Dr. Michael McGarry. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering.

Dr. Salvador Melendez
Salvador Melendez is a researcher with the US Army Research Laboratory at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. He received his B.S. in Mechatronics from the Tecnologico de Monterrey in 2006. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2014 and 2015 under the supervision of Dr. Michael McGarry. His research interests include cloud computing, and wireless communications.

Esau Ruiz
Esau Ruiz is a software engineer for Hewlett Packard in El Paso, Texas. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Mexico City. He received his MBA from the Universidad Autonoma Ciudad Juarez. He received his M.S. in Computer Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Michael McGarry in May 2015. His research interests include neighbor discovery and routing for wireless networks.

Elliott I. Gurrola
Elliott I. Gurrola is a software engineer with Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas. He received his B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2011. He received his M.S. in Computer Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Michael P. McGarry in 2013. His research interests include MAC protocols for access networks, and cloud computing.

Jesus Hernandez is a software engineer for MSD Ignition in El Paso, Texas. He completed his M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso under the supervision of Dr. Michael P. McGarry in Spring 2012. His research interests are in video communication and he has a published IEEE conference article on the subject.

Prof. Rami J. Haddad
Rami J. Haddad is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Georgia Southern University. He received his B.S. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from the Applied Sciences University, Amman, Jordan in 2004. He received his M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Minnesota at Duluth in 2006. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Akron in 2011 under the supervision of Dr. Michael P. McGarry. His research interests include video bandwidth forecasting, optical fiber modulation techniques, optical fiber nonlinear effects, and optical fiber networks. His information can be found here.

Rosish Shakya
Rosish Shakya is a senior software engineer for Dell in Austin, Texas. He completed his M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Akron under the supervision of Dr. Michael P.
